Poem One

This is the first poem
I am writing today
and the poem
incidentally
I should have written yesterday
but I was distracted
by a large insect
in my water glass
and as it didn’t even
metaphorically represent
the meaning of life
it left me in despair
and also very forgetful
and quite itchy
though
that goes
without saying
